and is now offered for sale. It was destined for a ship that was never built,
has never been installed or used, and most is still in the original
packaging. The primary components are dual joystick based digital vessel
postioning systmes, and GMDSS nav/com equipment and gear. A list of the

transformer intended for the ship, with specs shown at the bottom of the

The XFMR transformer was built by Power Magnetics of Trenton, NJ, and when
contacted the manufacturer described it as follows:
"The unit you have is called a "Phase Shifting Auto XFMR". Unlike a
conventional transformer, there is no voltage change. Rather, its purpose is
to take two balanced loads, 600v or less, 2,500kva or less, and convert them
from a six-pulsed rectifier to a twelve-pulse rectifier...the net result is
less current distortion on the primary. It is hard to...guess its value but I
would say in the range of $25-35k."
