Salvage tug boat
General:
This vessel is multi purpose ship, mainly for salvage, fire fighting and
towing in deep sea, should be classed as a (fifi 2, ocean going salvage and
rescue tug, oil recovery ship)oceangoing salvage tugboat
It should consist of four water tight compartments separated from each other
(fore peak, engine room, accommodation section, aft peak)
The Hull is protected with steel fendering fitted in the sides and round the
transom at deck level, the bow is covered with rubber fendering suitable for
the operation of the vessel,
The vessel should be fully classed ABS, DNV, BV, and GL.
Design complies with latest rules and regulations from SOLAS 74, with
amendments in force and IMO 469 (XII) “Guidelines for the design and
construction of offshore supply vessels.

Propulsion systems:
- Two air-started non-reversible diesel engines are installed
- The two main engines of total power 8000 kw
- The engine controls and alarms are in accordance with the rules of
class.
- Bow and stern thrusters aiding in maneuvering.
Electrical installation:
The vessel should be provided with the following electrical systems:
-380 v, 50 Hz , 3 phase
-230 v, 50 Hz , single phase
- 24 v, direct current
The main electrical power is supplied by:-
- two main diesel generator sets
- one emergency generating set
- shore supply
- the main generators are suitable for parallel operation
Accommodation:
- fully equipped accommodation for total 40 persons (crew)
- All accommodation areas are completely air conditioned and well ventilated
Hull materials and testing
The hull including all superstructures is to be constructed of grade A steel
(min tensile strength 400 N/mm?and constructed with a transverse and
longitudinal frame system.
All structural steel used for the construction of the Vessel and machinery
including forgings and castings shall be of good marine engineering quality and
not less than Class Grade A, tested, Inspected and certified as and when
required by Class, and shall be in conformity with Class Requirements. All
steel shall be free from cracks, laminations and similar defects.
The aft deck arrangement is strengthened for loads up to 5 tons/ m?
All materials, scantlings, equipment, welding and workmanship comply with class
requirements.
-The aft deck should be equipped with a double drum towing winch of at least
100 ton wire length 1000,750 meter.
-Complete containerized air diving spread including decompression chamber, L.P,
H.P banks, compressors……etc.
- Complete salvage equipment for dewatering, blowing, fire fighting and rescue.
