1962-built double-hull Liquid Barge - Available for Sale. It measures 82.3 m LOA, 18.3 m beam, and 7.7 m
depth with a 5.8 m summer draft. Classified by ABS and USCG-certified for Great Lakes service, it
features a flush deck, full spoon bow, steep raked stern with skegs, and tug notch. Cargo capacity is
approximately 39,746 bbl (6,317 m? at 100%, configured for Grade D & E cargoes with independent
segregated piping systems. Cargo heating is provided by a Vapor Liquid Phase Heater rated at 8,000,000
BTU/hr (2,345 kW), maintaining oil cargo discharge temperature while underway. Two Sier-Bath screw
pumps (1,500 GPM / 340 m?hr each at 8.6 bar) powered by GM 8V-71 engines handle cargo transfer.
Equipped with 2 layers of tank coils, dual 8?discharge headers, and independent heater fuel tanks on
deck, it ensures efficient operations in Great Lakes conditions.
Deck equipment includes a 3000 lb stockless anchor with 178 m of 57 mm chain, Emerson-Walker
hydraulic windlass, dual NETEC mooring winches with 91 m of 22 mm wire, two 175 kW AC generators
(John Deere engines), and a Sul-Air 40 hp electric blowdown compressor rated at 160 CFM (4.5 m?min).
Deadweight: 6,044 LT (6,142 MT) in saltwater.
Asphalt Capacity: 37,636 bbl (5,981 m? at 95% in summer
and winter.
1982-built Inland Asphalt Barge Available for Sale:
She is designed for The Great Lakes transportation service and has an ABS classification (A1 Oil Barge)
and is USCG certified for Grade D and E cargoes. The unit measures 94.49 m LOA, with a 18.29 m beam,
5.87 m depth, and a 4.76 m summer draft. Its 6,140 metric tons DWT (in saltwater) capacity is distributed
across five coiled cargo tank pairs, enclosed within a double-skinned hull construction featuring a double
chine bow, long rake stern, skegs, and a 25.0 m tug notch.
The barge features a flush deck insulated with 152 mm (6″) Pittsburgh Corning Foamglas, independent
heater fuel tanks on deck, and a machinery space equipped for pumps, engines, and heating.
Cargo capacities include up to 6,198 m?(39,000 bbls), with seasonal adjustments: 6,005 m?(37,800 bbls)
all year, 5,881 m?(37,000 bbls) typical, and 6,042 m?(38,000 bbls) in Great Lakes summer. The vapor-
liquid phase heater is rated at 8,400,000 BTU/hr (≈2,460 kW) and delivers an outlet temperature of 188°C.
The cargo system includes:
* (2) Warren J70B deepwell screw pumps, each rated at 9,463 L/min @ 8.6 bar (2,500 GPM @ 125 PSI)
* (2) GM 8V-71 diesel engines
* (2) segregated piping systems, with capacities of 3,752 m?+ 2,321 m?(23,600 + 14,600 bbls)
* (2) 254 mm (10″) discharge headers
* 5,486 m (18,000 ft) of double-layered tank coils
The heating system is approved to operate continuously, even while underway, maintaining cargo at
optimal discharge temperature.
Deck equipment includes:
* 1 stockless anchor (1,360 kg / 3,000 lb) with 219 m of 32 mm wire rope
* New England Trawler electro-hydraulic anchor winch, radio-controlled with up to 11 km (7 mi) drop range
from the tug
* (1) Navy LST bow winch and (1) NETEC Model X-2139, both with 76 m of 22 mm wire
* 150 kW AC generator powered by John Deere engine
* John Deere 4-cylinder engine with Leroi air compressor, rated at 8.6 bar (125 PSI)
