Services

The fully-equipped shipyard covers an area of 37 hectares and has a very large
berthage of 1,500 metres. Its two floating docks are supported by numerous
cranes, covered workshops, open fabrication yards and three newbuilding
berths. Supporting services are provided by subcontractors from both Singapore
and Batam.

Labroy Shipbuilding and Engineering and PT Nanindah Mutiara Shipyard provide
shipbuilding, shiprepair and ship conversion services. With its large area and
berthage, the shipyard is also ideal for storage and vessel berthing and lay-
ups.

The Singapore management team and the Indonesian workforce combine to provide
high quality services that shipowners expect from Singapore shipyards but at
competitive prices.
New Building
Up till July 1999, Labroy has constructed 349 vessels comprising floating
docks, tankers, tugs and barges of varying complexity and size.

Two floating docks have been completed; the first (Venture Dock 1) which has a
lifting capacity of 3,200 tonnes was completed in 1997 and the second (Venture
Dock 2) which has a lifting capacity of 12,000 tonnes was completed in 1999.
The two floating docks can dock vessels up to 10,000 dwt and 30,000 dwt,
respectively.

In 1997, Labroy constructed a 1,500 dwt clean product tanker, m.v. Sabrina.
The vessel is classed with ABS and measures 60.44 x 15.00 x 5.20 metres.

Labroy constructed and delivered 6 units of hatch barges and 3 units of pusher
tugs to the Singapore Ministry of Environment in 1998/9. Principal dimensions
of the hatch barges are: 85.5 x 15.5 x 5.5 metres; hold capacity of 3,500 m3
complete with McGregor designed hatch covers. The pusher tugs measure 28.0 x
9.6 x 4.5 metres and are powered by 2 x 1,200 bhp main engines and Schottel
azimuth thruster propulsion.

In 1999, Labroy completed a self-propelled cable burial barge for Cable &
Wireless Global Marine. Measuring 60.0 x 20.5 x 4.0 metres, the barge is
equipped with a 7 point mooring system.

Labroy is currently constructing 6 harbour tugs for Australia-based Adsteam
Marine and Howard Smith. The harbour tugs are 32 metre long single hull, omni-
directional drive units with a displacement of between 720 and 760 tonnes and
a power output of 3,600 kilowatts each.
Ship Conversion

Labroy has converted seven general cargo vessels into livestock carriers with
carrying capacity ranging from 1,200 to 3,000 heads of cattle.
