Docks and Piers

THE LIFTING AND LAUNCHING EQUIPMENT has been into operation since 1985. It is 
a transverse slipway double deck type. 

The largest vessels that can be dry docked are with the following dimensions: 

light weight 6300 t, length 185 m, breadth 24 m, draught 5 m 

The smallest vessels that can be docked are: 

length 40,0 m, breadth 13,5 m 

 
OUTFITTING QUAY - 400 m long. It has 5 t and 15 t portal cranes, water and 
electric supply, CO2 , acetylene, compressed air ains. 

SHIP REPAIR BERTHS, There are two ship repair berths - 200x24 m. equipped with 
two 15 t portal cranes. 

SHIP REPAIR QUAY: Is 250 m long and has a 15 t portal crane. There is a 
prospect for its lengthening up to 420 m. 
Workshops and Equipment
1. An open-air store for metal. 

2. An initial (zero) line for cleaning and painting of the hull metal equipped 
with a shot blasting machine, a plate straightening machine, an automatic 
painting chamber, drying chamber, etc. Computerization and addressed 
conveyance of the metal to the store and the initial line are on; a warming up 
chamber is to be fitted soon. The machines and facilities line are provided 
for the treatment of steel plates up to 3200 mm width and from 4 to 30 mm 
thick. 

3. Steel prefabrication shop with two halls, each with dimension 108x36m is 
provided with 12,5 t and 32 t cranes. The first hall is equipped with a couple 
of gas cutting machines with numerical program control, a gas cutting machine 
with optical control, a guillotine for cutting plates up to 24 mm thickness, a 
shaping and a flanging press, a hydraulic press of 500 t force, a profile 
bending machine, etc. 

4. The assembling and welding shop of 192x72 m is under construction. It will 
be furnished with belt lines for flat sections of the hull and superstructure, 
with mechanized stages for making units and block sections, mechanized tools 
and automatic welding machines. 

5. The hull assembling plant consists of two building berths.The first one is 
into operation and is 400x30 m large. It is supplied with 15 t portal cranes. 
The second berth is under construction , it will be 400x36m. 

6. The shipbuilding block is divided into 5 halls of 72x18 m, equipped with 5 
t cranes, a hall of 72x30 equipped with 12,5 and 32 t crane. The shipbuilding 
block includes, the piping shop, the machine shop, the maintenance and tool 
shop. 

7. The shiprepair plant includes two halls 72x18 m each. It is divided into 
several shops, equipped with 5 t cranes and equipment necessary for 
shiprepairs.
